Artist's Comments

This was done for class- but also not.
I'd been itching to do this piece for a long, long time. We were supposed to do a light report on three different illustrators (two assigned, one picked) and one of my assigned illustrators was Yoshitaka Amano, whom I love. An option was given to do an extra peice, done in the style or as an homage to the illustrator. I ended up doing this, influenced by several favorite amano prints.

My roomate worried about the "homosexual overtones", but the class didn't even comment XD

Done on stretched hotpress watercolor paper with india ink, red ink (2 brands), yellow ink (two brands), Blue ink (two brands) and gold calligraphy ink. I really enjoyed working on this one- though the camera was baffled by the super-saturated color. I think I'm getting better at photographing these large pieces, maybe? : )

Thanks very much! XD I'm glad you like it!

REALLY?! lol. I'll have to take a look. I don't normally do these hair colors, so that's pretty funny XD I tend to always fall back on black, but I needed to incorporate the color theme I was working with.

Oooh you should totally make more stuff in color! ^v^

I have a crazy idea! 8D Could I make an oekaki in my style with our characters in place of your two guys? Of course you'd have full credit for the concept/color scheme/everything!! (with a link to your picture) Like a tribute!

Because I think fate led me here!
(well actually it was your comment :thanks:)
