Project from earlier this year- mainly meant as an experiment with Goache. Learned it cannot be used for backgrounds.
The idea was based on the fact that when I was little and would go see the circus, I used to hold my breath when tigers and lions would jump though the firey hoop, wondering if they would change into something else
It IS a terrible photograph- too large to scan, I apologize for the cropping.
That is an amazing idea, and excellent execution - it is the kind of thing that, having a ringmaster character, I selfishly wish I'd thought of. The art itself looks like something one might expect in an illuminated manuscript, or the art on the walls of some temple...its a lovely style and vibrant colours. I adore the dragon's face, the paws, the curtains, the fire - all of it really.
wow... thank-you very much o.o Funny enough, I've been thinking of doing a ringmaster soon, i think that's why I was so amused by stumbling onto your pictures. Yes, I can't seem to break away from the flatness of illuminated manuscripts and Egyptian murals. They'll stick with me for the rest of me life.. *sad* you named all my favorite parts as well, haha.
thank you for your kind a rather thoughtful comment : )
You're very welcome - I love this art. You absolutely should get a ringmaster, for all that I may be a bit biased in saying so. I've had a blast with mine and I'm glad you like him.
Ugh, I know how that goes! It took me ages and I'm still not sure I've ever accomplished it. On the other hand, Egyptian murals are incredibly elegant and timeless, and illuminated manuscripts are gorgeous - but then, if that is not what you're going for, it's a matter of personal taste.
Ahaha, excellent XD I'm...psychic? I dunno.
Welcome! I love finding works that actually give me something to say, and even gladder when saying them is welcome. The thought that I might be a pest haunts me.

Welcome!
Don't worry, the background is quite nice (:
You should play around with it some more... that could make for a lot of really great images!
